Canskate


The CanSkate program is geared to beginners of all ages. Whether you are looking to improve basic skating skills for figure skating, hockey, ringette or speed skating, or wish to skate for recreation, fitness or fun, CanSkate will get you there.
Conducted in a fun, friendly environment. The CanSkate program showcases a comprehensive series of balance, control and agility skills, using a nationally-tested and proven curriculum that supports skater success in developing stronger basic skills on the ice.
Skaters must be able to stand, fall and move on their own.

Junior Figure skating


The Junior program is designed to bridge the CanSkate and STARSkate programs. To enroll in the Junior program, skaters must be working on CanSkate badge Levels 4, 5 or 6 and be selected by a coach. The registration fee for this program includes all ice, group coaching costs as well as off ice classes. Jump techniques, spins, edges and turns are taught in a fun and encouraging atmosphere. Skaters who wish to compete will be contacted by a club coach.
NEW Dry-land Training- Designed to help skaters with their on-ice preformance and conditioning by improving balance, flexibility and strengh. It helps skaters eliminate trial and error, increase skaters effective use of ice time and decrease chance of injury.​​​​​​​

intermediate figure skating


The Intermediate program provides opportunities for skaters to work on skills, dance and free skate. Skaters are selected for Intermediates by the coaching staff and encouraged to register for at least two sessions per week. The registration fee for this program includes all ice, group coaching costs as well as off ice classes. Skaters have the opportunity to take part in club shows and fun events such as entering Star 2 competitions when ready and interested. Skaters who wish to compete need to contact a club coach.

senior figure skating


The Senior program is for skaters who are ready for a busy, fast-paced skating environment. Skaters are selected for Seniors by the coaching staff and encouraged to register for at least two sessions, if not three sessions per week. The registration fee for this program includes all ice and group coaching costs as well as off ice classes. Skaters will need to talk to the coach to work on the skating disciplines that they have chosen to pursue (skills, dance, free skate and/or artistic).

adult figure skating

Whether you're a beginner looking to learn the basics or a seasoned skater wanting to improve your skills, our class has something for everyone. Join us for a fun and challenging workout that will help you build strength, balance, and coordination while having a blast on the ice. Don't miss out on the opportunity to glide and twirl your way to a healthier, happier you. 

The Adult Figure Skating program is designed for ages 18+ of all levels from CanSkate "Learn to Skate" to  STARSkate programs.  Sessions will include a coached directed group lesson with multiple skaters, as well as free-skate time to work individually on skills.


conDitioning


Get a step up on the competition with Conditioning, a high-energy instructional skating program geared to hockey and ringette players. This program focuses on balance, control and agility skills including components of power and speed. Skating skills, techniques and performance drills are taught. This is a fast-paced environment. Junior and Intermediate/senior classes available - based on skill level not age, the coach may move you to where you better fit.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
-Skates (figure or hockey skates)
- CSA approved hockey helmet (unless approved by coach Schelley to not wear one)
- Long Pants
- Mittens, gloves, or hockey gloves
- Dress in layers - be prepared to sweat
- Water bottle
- No hockey gear
